Fall Back Into Fitness and Change Your Life for Good!

The Fall Back Into Fitness challenge is only 2 weeks away, and I can't wait to see what's in store for us! Originally, I was going to follow a similar format to my previous challenges, which focused heavily on losing the most weight in a short amount of time. The more I planned, the more conviction I felt, knowing that this program structure only encourages a temporary commitment to "healthy" choices for the short-sighted purpose of winning a prize. I have to be honest with you. Whether you know it or not, many of us are addicted to food. Through clever advertising and social pressure, we have learned to associate food with happiness, comfort, and fulfillment, but the body only sees it as an energy source. In fact, some of the most addictive foods provide very little nutrition and encourage over-indulgence. Foods/beverages that are high in sodium (salt) and sugar are the biggest culprits and can wreak havoc on our bodies in ways that rival drug and alcohol addiction. As a personal trainer and mere human being, I totally understand the struggle between self-discipline and self-indulgence, but I also know from experience that long-lasting change is the sum of consistency and intentionality over time.

On Sunday morning, I received the confirmation I needed when I heard the story of the ten lepers that Jesus healed. While the preacher went in a totally different direction, the passage above really spoke to me in a different way. When we face challenges in life, we often look for an immediate resolution to the problem (fad diets for example). However, some deliverance can only happen as we go. This has led me to go in a new direction with this month's fitness challenge. This time, intentionality and consistency will be our primary focus. For 30 days, starting on Monday, September 13th, we will embark on a journey to renew our minds when it comes to food, self-image, and physical activity. We will celebrate our progress along the way (weekly opportunities to win prizes), but the main "prize" will be a stronger, happier, more confident, and overall healthier YOU.

This program is designed for anyone who wants to rewire their relationship with food and break the yo-yo dieting cycle. We welcome all fitness levels and goals, whether you want to build muscle, slim down, learn how to eat better, or just have accountability to remain on-track. My purpose is to help participants live their best lives by taking control of their nutrition and gaining a better understanding of their body's true physical needs.
